Mee Laksa v.2

When it comes to the food I never bore to eat up constantly, I've always tried to make my own since the day I know how to cook (which was about a couple of years back).

Mee Laksa has always been my Asian food fav due to the sauce's thick texture and its richness. *droool* I did whip up a Mee Laksa recipe but this one is more 'from the scratch' like. So here it goes:

Mee Laksa v.2 (the sauce)
Batch 1 ingredients to blend together:
2 to 3 cloves of garlic
half of large white onion
2 to 3 red shallots
1/2 cup of chilli boh
a teaspoon of shrimp paste
a tablespoon of kerisik (toasted ground coconut)

Batch 2 ingredient:
1 can of sardine in tomato sauce

Other ingredients:
2-3 lemongrass
1/2 cup of fish curry powder
1/2 cup of thick coconut milk
1/2 cup of watered tamarind
salt

------------------------------------------------------------------
Method:
1. Add 4 tablespoon of oil in a saucepan, let it heat up. Pour the Batch 1 and the lemon grass, stir until it's cooked evenly.
2. Add the blended sardines into the mix, stir until boils.
3. Add 1 tablespoon of curry powder at a time until finish. Stir until the mixture is evenly mixed. Add 1 cup of water.
4. Add 1/2 cup of watered tamarind, the desire amount of salt and stir continuously. Again, add 1 cup of water. Stir until the mixture bubbles.
5. Add 1/2 cup of thick coconut milk and also add another cup of water. Still until it's all done! =D

Labu masak lemak

I have been craving for labu masak lemak like forever. It came cross my head with a flashback where Irwan cooked his dinner one night when we were housemates. I never had the chance to ask him how he did it but I remember him giving me a lecture about pouring the coconut milk at the right moment. 'Kalau inda, mana menjadi'. -_- Well, I might proved him wrong today as I just made my first labu masak lemak! =D

My version of this might be more suitable when you live around the UK cause the original ingredients might be a tad hard to find. I have substituted some ingredients and it still taste very close to home's.

Labu masak lemak
1 squash
1 tablespoon of 'nasi goreng ikan bilis' powder (brought from Brunei) or dried shrimps.
a handful of bean sprouts
a handful of spinach
1/3 cup of milk
1/2 cup of coconut milk

half of large onion, cube-chopped and crushed.

small chilli, salt and black pepper (as desire)

Method:

1. Cut the squash into medium size cubes (not too small or you'll easily squash them while cooking) and remove the seeds.

2. Boil them till soften, soft enough that you can break them with the wooden spoon.

3.In another saucepan, heat up 3 tablespoons of oil in medium heat and mix in the small chilli and onions. Stir til aroma(?).

4. Add the squash and 1 1/2 cup of hot water. Add salt and black pepper for taste. Stir.

5. Add the bean sprouts and spinach. Continue on stirring till the sauce boils.

6.Lower the heat and start pouring the milk slowly. Stir and leave it with the lid on.

7. Now add the coconut milk, a little at a time and stir.

8. Leave the lid on and let it simmer with the heat.

9. Smell and taste it. If it's super good, then it's ready! =D

I know I'm not the best cooking instructor there is in this cyber world, at least I know how to cook decent dishes. >_<

Newcastle, Fieldtrip and what I have been up to.

It is definately been ages the last time I updated my blog. It never crossed my mind how tremendously busy it is to take my master in Newcastle. That huge gap that I have been MIA, a lot has happened in my life. For instance, I bought two adorable rats, James and Jasper. =) But they're not with me anymore.. I gave them away cause I didn't have time for them as I had a handful of work to do for my course. At least they're in good hands now. <3

Last 2 weeks, I had a fieldtrip to Nice, France and honestly, 80% of the time, I wasn't enjoying myself much due to some reasons I prefer not to 'expose' (Believe me, I'm sooo wanting to blab every bit of it but naaah...).

Anyway, here's some sites we visited.

The Malsappet Dam.

This dam collapsed many years ago, and it was deadly. I don't bother to write on the detail cause it seems I'm writing down another report about this place. -_-" Want to know more about it, GOOGLE!

Big big pyrite fossil! Oh yes, I was extremely excited looking at this. =D

This is somewhere we were on top of the mountain, and this was my first ever to hike, well anything! Mark, my colleague was amazed how I managed to climb all the way up with sneakers. Well, I am an inexperienced hiker or anything what we were doing back there.

In the Alpes, we stayed in a farm hostel owned by a buffy guy (was John his name? I forgot.. D=) with his family and horses and dogs and cats and donkeys. We stayed there for a couple of nights and went back to Nice, sharing a room with Ariza and Esra.

Nice.

The last day, we headed to Monaco. Why? Another task for the report. The place is just filled with people. Me don't likey. =((

Well, that's the end of France, I can't say much about it cause:

1. there's so much to write about and pictures to put in.

2. I'm too lazy and need to work on with the report related to all this.

Ok, I'll share a FEW pictures what happened in my life.

Went to Machester to meet up Ipin, and had tons of fun with all the Brumanchies with us. =)

I went to Olhao, Portugal for my short break from uni work.

I also went to Liverpool, I know I went there already but I'm so in love with Liverpool!

And this is in South Shield, located near Newcastle.

Well, my time is up, distracting myself out from work for about 15minutes. Now, I need to shower, eat, go uni and continue on with my bloody work! *STREESSS*

After 3 full years of degree studying, I finally graduated! *JOY*

Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah. =')

Back in Brunei, I notice a lot of my 'little' cousins, nephews and nieces aren't so little anymore, that's for sure. Not being around in Brunei that long, little things mean something to me now. It's a part of growing up, I guess.

It's nearly a month since I gotten back from UK,weeks of meeting up friends and family. And oh, a week trip to Tawau via bus with my uncle and his friends. Awie and myself were the youngest of the group and the rest were about at the age of 50 and up. I just couldn't figure out how could they stand the 24hours bus trip from Brunei to Tawau? It's just ridiculous! And I thought urang tua ani inda 'cakah'. LOL!

And I also had my first solo trip in Asia which is in Kota Kinabalu. And that will be my LAST time ever to travel solo in a country which is not safe for a single woman to travel alone. But nonetheless, I enjoyed my trip! <3

I've always passed by lush store for almost 3years and I never had the appeal to pay it a visit. As I assumed it was a typical soap store.

But after I watched this guy, Richie Nickel reviewing their products, I got interested as there's a lot more than soapy bars. And the products are animal test free and vegans. =) Which I'm really happy about. Honestly, I'm the kind of person who cares about the environment but I still love my meat and seafood feast, it's the ay the foodchain goes.

And this, I kind of buy this cause I'm really curious how my hair will turn out after I use it. And in the plus side, this is a really good substitute to liquid shampoo whenever I travel somewhere.

When I got home, hopped into my bed and took a nap. The smell from Lush products has completely occupied the whole bedroom. It gave a nice florally sense to it. <3

Putri's last day in Belfast, I finally had the time to bring her (and myself) to Streamvale farm which is approximately 20minutes walk from Ice Bowl Dundonald. And seriously, every single tiny creatures in there are just soooo adorable!

Then, we headed back to the Ice Bowl and played bowling and ice-skating. The last time I skated was during my first year and that's it cause I didn't like the falling bit of skating. Really painful!

And this time, I didn't fall at all. *yeay* But guess who did? *ehehe*

Ripin was really excited as this was his first ice-skating. But as soon as he stepped on the ice rank, all his balance just went straight out of the window. =p

Busy and invisible

Finally, Easter break's here. =) Yet, I need to do 5 assignments which are due on the first week of uni. *sad*

Whatever have I been doing? Honestly, most times, I just stay put in Belfast, trying to cope with my studies and living. Final year is a lot LOT different than the previous years. Having to do an independent project on my own is a whole new + huge challenge in my education standard I've encountered. It's pretty scary how lazy my brain has worked for those previous years.

So anyway, enough of that. I finally headed somewhere again around Europe. :)

5 days in Portugal was AWESOME! I needed that VACATION! *Stretch legs*
Since 3 days ago, Putri is around in Belfast, visiting Ireland. And yes, she's staying over at my place. And I have to admit, my house has gotten so 'kapoh'. HAHA!

Speaking of who, Prissy visited me too around New Year too. I felt bad I didn't show her around much as it was the end of the month... no money, no travel. D=

I miss being around with them. What I notice about my friends, majority of them are so chatty chatty! HAHAHA! Brightens up the mood!

I've been pretty MIA with my blog since whatever, it's just because most times, I've been keeping myself warm under the blanket the whole winter and I'm still doing it now. Another case, I'm flat broke. D=

Things are pretty chilly around the UK at the moment, somehow, mothernature has turned this place like one of those end poles and I'm not joking.

The 'fresh' snow was good till it expired. The snow from last few days haven't completely melted yet, instead, compacted and freezed. I have a very own huge-ass ice-skating rank just right outside my front door! Wooopie!! *not* I hate skating, I just get blue bruises from all the falling (I don't know how to 'brake').

So anyway, here's a couple of snow pics. First experience, snow in daylight.

Have you ever tried meringue? There's sooo gooooooOood! I'm an abs'a'lute sweettooth.

I tried making it last year, but all I got was a big fat watery burnt blob in the middle of my tray. I didn't know why I failed (a failure?), but now I do. =P And I'm not telling you what I did wrong.
My second attempt, just prefect. =)
And here's the recipe.

Meringue
5 white eggs.
260grams of caster sugar.

Steps:
1. Put egg whites into bowl, whisk till stiff (not dry, it has this foamshave-looked).
2. Add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, constantly whisking it til the mixture gets reaaaally thick.
3. Check by turning the old upside down bowl method, it should stay put. (and here, you know you're in the right track)
4.Preheat oven 140degree C. Line baking tray with greaseproof sheet or something to put on the mixture without having it to stick on your lovely tray.
5. Make a circle on the sheet with the mixture.
6. Bake for approx. 1.5hours, then switch oven off and let it dry out.
7. And there you go, a meringue!

But to make it even more delicious, top it off with some nuts, icecream, whipped cream or fruits or chocolates on top! And now, it's not a meringue anymore, it's now called and PAVLOVA. =D

Lastnite, again I couldn't sleep after watching paranormal activity that night before. I had spontaneous messages from my friend, Colm. So the first random plan was to get my ass to Newcastle, NI and spend my time around there with him, watching footie match plus exploring the place. But because I woke up so uberly late, as in 5pm late. The plan was kapoff.

What happened? After one whole hour of facebooking Aiman and the gang, I eventually made plans with them tonite. Watched 2012 movie, played pool and hungout at their place. They were freakishly hilarious! And yes, I made new friends. =D *jumpsjumps*

It's now a week I'm in Brunei and my god, it's freaking hot than last year! I know that everyone knows why, JEREBU!!! D=

So *ehems* please, don't actively burn your garden waste at the moment. I was a bit over the top advising my mum to stop herself from open burning too, I guess a lot of people got used to open burning as it's not illegal, and if it is, it's not strictly enforced. Like the pirated DVDs/CDs which are hugely available in every home entertainment stores. But I don't mind about that, it doesnt hurt anyone except the producers&actors who will constantly whining about the reducing payment in each coming year, so I don't pity rich, spoiled celebrities, really.

But as for the haze, it's slowly suffocating mother earth and yes, I BELIEVE in Ozone layer. *LOL* I know it's a fact but I don't see anyone really give a damn about it here, I guess they don't believe they are killing us?
Our ozone layer is getting thinner because people are getting 'hot' on things. *lalala~* definately not the looks.

My basic science is really rusty since I've done with it last 6 years ago, but are we experiencing a freaking badass global warming now??

Oh yes we aree~~ Bah! STOP YOUR OPEN BURNING! I don't want to degrade myself by wearing skimpy clothes around Brunei because it's getting too damn hot! What will the UNeducated people will say??? *sarcasm*

Since Alin went home to Brunei, I've been figuring out how to spend my time in London without him. Turned out I do have my time fill up. =)

I tagged Hariz along with me to Mit Nah, and surprise, Emma was there, finally! The last time I met her was five years ago. We had a very good time, with heart to heart conversations along with a great lasagna meal. :) delicious.

Today, specificly, I had booked 2 tickets for a Swavorski exibition and it was so much fun as I brought along Amal! I thank Prissy for telling me and too bad she couldn't be here with me as she's in Brunei. Don't worry Prissy, there's still time for us in UK to go to lots of fashion shows/exibitons in the near future.

Less than a week more to go, Alin and I will be flying off to London, then Brunei. Alin'll be off to Brunei on the 22nd July whereas I'll be going a week after.

The house has been pretty quiet and empty since we're the only ones left here, I've moved some of my stuff to my new room but I had problems with the curtain hanger, it doesn't fix itself in place. I might as well buy myself superglue to temporary hold it on through my whole stay and hopefully the landlord won't notice it. And yes, we're continuing our lease on 58 Edinburgh St property until we graduate. :) It's such a hassle moving out, a lot of job to be done and I'm not into that putting everything in boxes and when I'll be back in Belfast next term, I won't be worrying much about unpacking things as most things are already ready and set.

God, I miss Wae&Farkhy as housemates. Wae just loves stomping up the stairs which I'm used to have each day, and oddly enough, I miss those stomping noise. Farkhy's the quiet side of the duo, someone, I have some nice conversation with his 'yeaaa..' here and there while Wae's the quirky one who I like to get wild and loud conversation with. :( *shessh* sanak ku dorang balik ani. Truly miss them like yeaa....... *LOL* Irwan loves to sing like in the middle of the night or in such early mornings. But not to worry, he'll be back with us next term.

Anywho, will be off watching The Hangover at MovieHouse.

No matter how much I love my current hair colour right now, I can't keep it when I'm in Brunei. You know what I mean.. But god, I'm in love with it so much! DX

So again, this will be the last time you'll see my hair in this colour, tomorrow, it'll be chestnut brown.It's Sunday, and we had some spare time in the afternoon to shop in a nearby mall at Boucher Road. Thank god, I've finally finished the backhome gift lists. And I'm so happy there's a lot of huge sales in this mall and a big plus for having very few shoppers in the area!

I've bought a vertical mirror just for my future room! *hehehe* jagaaa.... We have decided that I'll be taking over Farkhy's room. Though it's smaller than my current room, it's easier for myself to manage, and Alin needs the extra space as he might be buying a drum set next term.

And I also got myself a big makeup bag so all my cluttering make up stuffs in my room will have only ONE place to put in. Not like 2,4, 6 mini makeup bags buried somewhere in my room.

Well, I used to be one... ok, ok still in a few occasions also one of those many many people but when I go anonymous, I never write crap things about the blogger, I rather be neutral and whatever I think is bad about this person, I keep it to myself or 'tagur' him/her in a decent way.

What do I mean?

Chat/Shout box in blogs/ diary journals are the best examples.

The funny bits, when you hate the person so much, you rather go anonymous rather than use your name or regular cybernick to address your abusive destructive comments. What's up with that??

Talking behind someone's back is one thing but leaving those fowl comments anonymously just to show the whole world the many countless ways why you should hate that blogger is just darn desperate! Desperate to get everyone else to hate him/her as much as you do!

It's like CALLER ID all over again! Damn, I remember before we have one at home, some crazy pervert kept calling our home phone in the middle of the night and all he did was sounding like he's having an orgasm! Well, that's what my mum told me!
Eventually, when we have a caller ID, that very night, he called again, my mum hung up and called him back. SURPRISE!
Ever since, he never called again. If he does, simple, report him to the law. =D

Actually the current colour of my hair is the lightener, so when I dye my hair, the colour visibly shows. And I was actually having fun with it by dying a hint of pink on the side and honestly, I think it looks good enough to keep. Now, I'm wondering if I should carry on dying my hair dark brown tomorrow which I actually attended to do or keep it the way it is now. mm........

Finally, allowance's out but sadly, I haven't gotten my debit card yet. :( woke up late and end up went to the city when the bank closed. *wail* Eventually, I borrowed from Alin and bought things for my mum and dad; and some accessories.

I couldn't help myself from buying this very yellow neon cap, this cap is soooo not me! But it suits me. Just can't believe I fell in love with a NEON CAP! HAHA
The boxers are soo eye-catching, I would love to buy this for myself (to bed. =P) but not now, I'm on a tight budget.
*tick* I've already bought a foot spa massage for my parents, hope I'll get away from immigration charge at Brunei airport.

End of June vacation.

Finally, I'm back home from my 5 days mainland vacation. =D Too bad I've used up all my cash, sorry bapa. -_-

So we started off in Liverpool, the accomodation we stayed in was just an apartment run by a guy, so typically there wasn't any reception desk. We waited nearly 2 hours for him to arrive and get into the dorm. On the brighter side, the place was nice and cheap, 11quid a night is a bargain.

We shared with some Chinese and..... Mexicans! I was so blurred one. Shazleen had this shocked face when they told us there from Mexico. I totally forgot about the swine flu thingy. HAHAHA. But so far on our trip, both of us are still very healthy apart from having leg cramps due to too much walking around.

The first day in Liverpool, we didn't get the chance to explore as much as we expected due to the early unexpected time wasting.

2nd day, we headed to Manchester but we had some technical prob about our transportation, my advance ticket cannot be process as it needs the debit card I've used to buy it before, and my card has been terminated the day before due to card fraud.. soo... we bought new ones, talk about wasting..

Stayed a night at Hatter's Hostel.
We had all day and I was checking up attractions in Manchester from the pc and seems there's nothing much , except MU stadium.
This is the funny bit, we asked around how to get to Manchester Stadium Fanclub, what I forgot to mention in between those name, there's United. Instead we went to the Manchester City FC Stadium and the best hilarious bits:

Me: Why is it blue ah..?
Alin: dont know, maybe it's red in the inside.

Yup, we're so lagging, not realising in time that we're actually in the wrong place we've bought 2 tour tickets for it. WAHAHHAHAHA which we didnt go as it started at half past one, and at that time, we were already in MU stadium.

And when did we actually figured out we're at the wrong place?
It's when we asked where the gift shop and went inside to see so many BLUE jersey and then CLEARLY read the label MCFC (Manchester City Fan Club). HAHAHAHA. MAMPOI eh!

3rd day, train trip to Blackpool. :)

I was so in love with the room! Owh TV! HAHAHA
Alin gets the smaller bed where as I get the bigger one.

Honestly, I LOVE Blackpool! So many rides, arcades, attractions, the beach. *hearts* Cheapest place to go for a good fun out when you don't feel like leaving UK.

Balckpool is famous for the Paromade, the side beach, filled with entertainments. Getting around, use the tram. If you love big rides, It's a definate MUST to go to Pleasure Beach, all the rides are awesome!! And don't forget to ride The Big One, biggest tallest and longest roller coaster in Europe. The sight being waayy up there, like damn, I started screaming even before we dropped down.

The blue track, Infusion, the track behind is The Big One, stretching around the park.

Blackpool is also famous for its Candy Rocks and Fish&Chips.

Pointers: To get a worthy Fish&Chips, go to Ramsay's, near the tower. Other Fish&Chips I've tried around the area was buweekkk! I bought them cause they're
cheap and I was getting broke. :P

Final day, going back home via Liverpool. As my flight was at night, I had enough time to explore a little bit more of Liverpool.

Shessh.... God I wish I have some leftover cash to shop, so many varieties in Liverpool One. DX

I will definately be back again to Blackpool. I still can't get enough of the place!

summer cleaning~

First day the sun shines since a week ago and so. We took the apportunity to clean the house! XD And I can say I'm a very lazy person, just a minute continuous scrub on the glass window, my hands started to sore.

We also de-weeded the front yard, which was hard work. I was pulling weeds as quick as I possibly can to get the job done until I found this disgusting thing...Eeeeeee! Geli!! This is the biggest of the BUNCH, yup, lots of them! The one very insect which gives me the creeps, why? The 'furrr', the bug squishy eyes, those weird suctioned legs, I mean, who doesn't get disgusted by that? And this ones look like they have black moulds covered.
Then on, I inspected before I touched anything, in case it moved.

I do hate scrubbing when it comes to chores, especially if the stain doesn't come off. So frustrating..

This irritating thing happened to me earlier:

So lucky, the ones with the triangular-aligned dot (indicates it's made out of pigs' skin) were the ones I bought from PRIMARK!

Lucky or not? Hm... well, I can't buy 80% of Primark shoes due to that and why does it have to be the pretty pairs?? D=

Why did I buy them in the first place? As some people don't what's Primark, it's the cheapest shopping store in the UK, where you buy shoes worth 4quids and still looks great! I'm not being ignorant, I just got distracted by the price and the 'nice-nice' things in store, with the rushing and the pushing among other potential buyers. Seriously, this store will always be filled with crowds even in the early hours. You tell me how am I not distracted by those? *haha*

Babi banar the person who invented pigs' skin products, making my shopping life more difficult than it already is. Babi!

Anyway, I threw 3pairs of piggy-piggy shoes and I'm glad it isn't the pricey ones, seriously, it kills me if I HAVE to THROW those away. It's like burning my cash. D=

Bloody ell.. I have to pinch myself with a thousand pegs on my face just to realise it''s been more than a year half, me and Alin, together. Our commitment has been a very long roller coaster ride with the usual high and low but I never have once thought honestly, we could last this long and I want to keep it that way.

It's not that just it feels right but over those moments we share, we knew we couldn't get enough of each other though that routine of our everyday life is just the same-o-same, having to live under the same roof. Am I getting bored of him? Well, I thought I did, but I come back for more. So I don't think I am, I am an attention seeker when it comes to relationship, so when things are getting quiet or bored, I am like any other girlfriends do, get the boyfriend's attention.

there's nothing much up lately, beside the annoying bangs and vibrations from Alin's constantly hitting his paddle with invisible drums.

Cikgu Dullah from Brunei Hall was in Belfast a few days and he treated all of us for dinner in Sonali, I kinda forgot to shot their pictures. :P

This month, I have been:
1. Doing some studying and reading on A LOT of stuff which honestly I haven't quite get it in my head yet.
2. Waiting for my examination results, rumour said that it'll be out on the 19th. (I do hope so)
3. Planning my short trip to Liverpool, Manchester and Blackpool.
4. Planning on our Belfast home.

I've been doing some organising in my room, and I'm getting rid of things I'm not really bother to wear or use anymore. Some, I'll be giving them to charity, some I'll be selling it off in ebay, including my lensbaby.
*sigh* sayang kan dijual pun... if I don't use it often, it's also a waste too. Selling it of with a bidding price of 99pence and a postage cost of £25.00 at first, then I lowered it to £20.00 as someone complained how pricey it is. But COME ON, it's a bidding item, people won't bid til above the RRP of it. I, myself, will calculate the total price + postage of each item and know what's my limitation to spend for it.

I have been keeping myself as low profile as possible till I feel like my life's simply out from complete dramas. With major stress relates out of the way, I shouldn't be complaining, should I?

Sometimes, I pick fights with my boyfriend just to have a little 'life' in my life but we have been together for so long, it didn't effect him, not a nudge. He got used to my whines and moans, he ignores those tantrum of mine. Eventually I give up most times.

I have filled my times reading books and magazines and purchasing more factual & study books online.

I don't need to cut my hair anymore since my new hair straightener arrived. I needed a thinner clamps than my current one, bulky. It totally fixes my hair problem. =) Finally, my whole hair's down.

And owh, I also bought a 1TB external hard drive. The two 160GB hard drives I have were CRAP! Just utterly useless! And one of them is only less than a year old and it has started to not recognising data I have stored in, the horrors! D= The worse bits, the old hard drive was totally unrecognised by my laptop. I mean what the neraka?? I just wish sales products in Brunei be up-to-date and try to eliminate piracy products. ( well, CDs, DVDs, Softwares jangan eh dulu...)

It's Sunday, a week of jobless moments and counting, eventually we did go out and went to the park. SUNBATH! XD But my god, it was bloody hotter than last year's. We had Siamese ice cream top with Ferraro rocher(?) and raspberry riffle(?). *haha* damnit I forgot to spell those. So yea, anyway, about my hair, turned out it is STILL unmanageable to style on my own and I still have it in an updo(well, half-way), if this goes on, I'll tell you, I'll be Miss Shorty Hair all over again. -_-

I can say I am as free as the bird fly through the blue sky but I'm still dreaded for the final results, 2 more weeks of waiting. I twitch a lot now and then , I can't even plan for my summer trip before going back to Brunei. I won't be back til either late July or early August.

Since I have been to 3 European countries at once last easter, I kinda daydream about going to Egypt for my next destination but alas, due to undecided plan and the limited time and also limited cash (the sad bit), I guess my Cairo trip won't be happening this summer. So I'm stuck with a city break trip to Lisbon, Portugal or perhaps Barcelona?

Anyway, yesterday was super duper SUNNY! It brightened up my room eventho' the curtains were closed. But because I had my last exams the previous day, hence the sleepless nights made me exhausted, I slept all those sunny hours, all that waste. =(( And today, I was out, with cloudy sky and surprise showers. *achoo*

Planning to cut my hair but I forgot my student card + my usual saloons were closed, we skipped it. And because we didnt wanted to waste the day walking around, we watched Star Trek instead of Angels and Demons which honestly at first, I wasn't looking forward to watch but god,I glad I did.

This new Star Trek is a must see movie in cinema! =D Sooooooooo... niceeeeeee........ I likey likey! *hehehe* reminds me of The Big Bang Theory. :p

We've watched most of the street performances by the fools of last year, we bumped into one today, when I finally woke up early enough to go shopping. We didn't attend the other performances as I was feeling kinda 'washed out' and only trying to get the things I've targeted on the internet to shop. Yes, I'm weird now, I don't buy stuff by impulse nowadays. Quite in a karit mood as I haven't gone to a shopping spree, I mean REALLY shopping spree for a loooonnnggg time. Most of the money went for the house, food, travels, but not my desire WANTS. By that I mean like, I saw this dress, I always get it tho it's a tad pricey. And it's making me terribly moody not having new pretty jewelleries and the in trend clothes. I never thought I was THAT shopoholic but seems like I am, why would I be moody in the first place??

Actually, I was thinking twice wether to buy WANTS or NEEDS, in today's case, a new vacuum cleaner, not a cheap thing to buy. Eventually after further thinking while our long stroll around the street, I want my WANTS NOW~!

til I sit down on one of the many rows of arranged desks and chairs where a lot of people dreaded but have to, sit down and take examination papers. Yes, all the things I fear and I have to face it.

And to top it all, this year's spring is way gloomier than last winter. It rains like forever, turning my mood off completely. I haven't even get the chance to stroll in the park, enjoying the hot sun along with its flowery aroma, and I just can't wait to wear a lot less layers without freezing myself. DXOn the brighter side, I've downloaded The Big Bang Theory series and I find it very amusing. Something to cheer me up at the moment.

Sometimes, I do hate myself for 'un'purposely hurt others' feeling without even knowing it. And after I did that and then finally notice what I did, I start to cry in a very long period and somewhat torture my mental mind with clouds filled with guilt and keep repeating myself how stupid I was. I am only human. I do, and again and again, apologies for my mistakes.

So today, 2nd day since my allowance's out, I've already spent 150quids out of it. Shopping = Stress reliever. And owh, chocolates too. I was feeling insecure about myself, I went out, covering my head with a beanie along with my hoodie. Alin spent alot more time than me deciding what to buy and try. I ended up being the critic but it's alright, he bought me a cookie monster tee. =)
We had our afternoon tea at Costa, I was craving for a cool drink and I was beginning to heat up from the sunray. Tho it's still cold yet, I was sweating like a piggy wearing doubles.

The first fly I saw since I came back. *haha*

Alin and myself are feeling nausea on the way home, I guess it's something we ate.

I trimed my fringe by myself as I was kinda 'karit' going to the saloon and spend 25quids only to get my hair trim. It wasn't easy cutting my own hair (first time, AGAIN), I was shaking while doing it. One word, nervous. Then, Alin wanted me to cut his hair short too, which got me going with the trembling hands.

Late afternoon, already looking fairly tired, watched Knowing starring Nicholas Cage. Rate? m... it was ok.. so so.

It's 12midnite, 26th March has arrived, Alin and myself were in my room playing L4D as usual, then he played 'HappyBirthday' song from his lappy, took out a gift under the bed and smile,'Happy Birthday Yang'.
The gifts were too much for me to handle, I cried. ;-)
And that was it, or so I thought.

I went to the loo to do my thing and when I'm in, Alin kept distracting me from outside,he needed to go to the loo urgently. I sheshed and let him in but the weird thing was he changed his mind. -_- WHAT??? I was in the middle of doing my 'thing' in the toilet! I shoo'ed him out.

When I got out, he was waiting for me outside. Going to my room, still looking at him, wanted to scold him but backfired by a loud,'Happy BIRTHDAY!'

I screamed and jumped one step behind.
And yes, you guess it.

It's the middle of the night, I was bored and my polkadot dress has arrived today. Don't know what came over me, I was in the mood for photography. XD I was the model. It gets me thinking how hypocrite everyone is and deny that they are. Especially when they despise backstabbers but really, what rights for them to say they're not what they despise?

Well, I, myself do talk behind people's back when I 'know' they do to, and it takes a bloody bad-ass bitching for me to get myself started too. Oh, come on, everyone has this sixth sense where they can sniff a fowl mouth from a rat anywhere.

Sometimes, I don't think people get what is gossip, it's not always true, 99.9% are always been misleading in the gossiping process, for example:

Point of origin: I haven't done anything to her, she just needs comfort.
1st point: He was trying to cheer her up.
2nd point: He's always there for her, trying to make her happy.
3rd point: He's close with her, I guess he has something going on.
4th point: eh, I heard those two have something going on.
and the points of gossip just goes on and on.

So if anyone are so determine to know the truth, it's better to go ahead and ask from the people themselves but then again, no one has the guts to do so, instead they spread what they think they know anyway.

It's like 2 months ago I last took that dreaded medicine syrup for a bad fever. Now, irritated watery eyes, runny nose, heated forehead, I'm again sick with the double Fs (Flu&Fever). No 3 of us attended today's extra class, while I was ill, others were overslept.

Everytime I have the double Fs, I always take every single cure necessary, hoping for a quick recovery as one thing I hated the most being in this condition is irritated eyes + runny nose, it's a nuisance. I know it's bad taking a handful different medicines at one time but taking only panadols never seems to work on my body since know how long.

My immunity is not as immune as it should, hence rather than take the long run, took only one specific pills and let myself heal completely for like hardly ever or take dif. pills all at once and bare the mucus arm-wipings for less than a week.

Again and again, hope me well.

My lappy's somewhat being such a twat since last few nights, I guess it caught a bad virus and it might be something to do with the so-called DVDRip Watchman I carelessly downloaded. DX Note to self, always, ALWAYS read the reviews. =( Well, I learn it the hard way.

So anywho, the lucky thing is I've taken along the installation CDs along with me. Bad thing, I have totally no experience or any idea how to make use of them. Instead asking for advise, I let my direct-ego-spontaneous action gets the best of me. Irwan and Alin were pretty nail-biting watching me clicking the buttons away on the laptop.

Few tries, blue screens, black screens, they started to panic til I kinda too, but eventually, there it is, the usual Windows screen but without those components like the audio, it was completely mute. D= But now, it's not anymore, but I still can't figure out how to get my wireless to start. I need some kinda drivermigek substance to make it become an available option. For now, I'm relying on the etheret (not bother how it's spelt or pronounced) connection.

Still downloading the missing puzzles for my lappy to be complete.

Woke up, cooked breakfast, woke Alin up, and got myself ready for the trip. But eventually, 8am had past.. Eventually, everything got cancelled cause it's too late. =(

It was a last minute a day trip to Dublin and we missed both the 8am train and bus to get ourselves in time for the St. Patrick's Parade. Another year to come, I guess.

Here goes, we had this last minute thing, tonite, attending the West Coaster Cooler Fashionshow. The THREE of us like,'what to wear???' Eventually, it was like get something hot out from the closet and just make it up.

Me, the sakai among the bunch, sooo sakai we got interviewed twice. Hopefully our pictures will appear on IN! magazine coming nextmonth and Belfast Telegraph this coming Wednesday. Not hoping too much... *tah karang..*

I still didnt feel well this morning, I intentionally didn't go to class, thinking Alin and Irwan were going anyway. Turned out non of us did. *NO!!!* Pikah.... pinjam notes... XD

So yes, I woke up midday, feeling fairly better, I headed to the city to buy my soap and shampoo and such. Alin was hungry, so we ate at Pizzahut. 7.50quids for 2heads!

It's the season of givings for UrbanOutfitters again, and this time, I don't need to but their stuff to get the free goodies, all I had to do is just go in the store. XD

I felt like a kid back from a birthday party.

Somehow, when I know too much, things are starting to get boring. I mean like this senario:
Hey, a new movie's out!
But hey, there's nothing like knowing way too much in alot of things ruin it.

I miss being young and gullible. Watching Hocus Pocus or cartoon crossover to the real world, believing they may be exist. And that one time, I watched this cartoon movies about 3 shoe-fixing fairies, I actually believe they might come to my home one night and fixed my crummy shoes, I leave a glass of milk and some 'Ahoy' cookies on the window. =p

But now, movies don't really amuse me that much cause well, I know too much or someone's trying to ruin it, for instance, 'Wanted', someone told me it's unlogic for a bullet to bend through air. XD Another, I'm not into computer-effect-ky movies which are alot coming out over the years than it used to back then.

Sometimes, I don't want people to tell me it's not logic, of course alot of movies aren't logic. It's for us to entertain but then again, the human minds're getting smarter as the growth. Maybe.. Too smart for our own good.

Attended it at Morgan's Centre which is just right behind my home. =D I came there earlier than Alin, and played quite weird games together with others. Made new friends along the way. =)

So apparently, my room is another ideal place to chill out. =p

I made my very own gravy too. *HAHA* didn't even look through any recipes online, I just mixed and taste. And it taste how it should, like gravvyy~~~ XD but it wasn't thick enough cause we ran out of cornflour... *esh*

Ada's Mushroom Gravy:
1/4 cup of butter
2 closed mushrooms, sliced; half mushroom, minced
1/4 brown onion, minced
1 teaspoon pati ayam
2 1/2 cups water
1tablespoon soy sauce
1tablespoon oyster sauce
1dash of kicap masin =p
3 tablespoon HP BBQ sauce
4 tablespoons of cornflour (I think, I used only 2tablespoons as I ran out of it)

Method:
Heat butter in saucepan til melt, add minced mushroom and onion, stir til aroma.
Add the sliced mushroom and water.
Then add the other ingredients as well.
Before you put the cornflour in, put it in a cup and add some cold (or was it warm?)water and stir with a spoon. Then pour it into the mixture. This to ensure it not forming white blobs in the gravy.
Stir til satisfy. =D

Serve with chips, lambchops, burgers.. *yumyum*

Homemade Burger

I was craving for burgers and because the halal readymade burgers around here taste awful, I made my own eventually.

Homemade burgers.
Ingredients:
750g beef mince
1 large brown onion, grated
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1/4 cup chopped fresh continental parsley
70g (1 cup) breadcrumbs, made from breads.
1 egg, lightly whisked
Salt & ground black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoon olive oil

Serve:
6 hamburger buns, halved
6 slice cheese
3 medium ripe tomatoes, sliced
tomato sauce
6 Iceberg lettuce leaves, shredded
2 gherkins, sliced

Method
Prepare all your ingredients before you begin.
Place the beef mince, onion, garlic Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce parsley, breadcrumbs and egg in large bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Mix with your hands until evenly combined.

Place the patties onto a tray lined with- greaseproof paper. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to rest. Chilling the patties will help them hold together when cooked and blends flavour. If patties chilled longer , increase the cooking time slightly.

Heat half the olive oil in a large, non-stick frying pan over medium-low heat and cook half the patties for about 4 minutes on each side or until browned and cooked through. Take out when done, set aside and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining oil and patties.

Meanwhile, preheat grill on high. Place the hamburger buns, cut-side up, under the preheated grill and toast for 1 minute or until golden. Leave the grill on.

To serve, top the bottom halves of the toasted hamburger buns with the patties and then the cheese slices. Return the bottom bun halves under the grill for 1 minute or until the cheese is just melted. Top each with the sliced tomato, tomato sauce and shredded lettuce, sprinkle with salt and pepper and then cover with the hamburger bun tops.

Half cup mushed patty. =p

Today's the same like any other day... Tho' it's our 16th Monthsary. Well, if we celebrate every single month, it wouldn't be special, would it?

Actually, we have this tradition really, every month, one of us buy a gift. Just random, to show that me or him didn't forget. =p
So, I'm the lazy other half who kinda find gifts in the last minute, well, used to. Today, he was the one who kinda forgot about 'today' until the last minute.
And lucky, my gift arrived exactly today, was so anxious for it to come.

Yup, a Superman necklace and he loves it. XD Not too long, not too short, jusssst right on his neck.

And oh, Wae's back to being a blondie.

Only 1/3 way there. He needs to bleach it twice to get it platinum blonde, how crazy is he???

It's been a while and these few weeks, it's just the same routine like any other normal cold wet days in Belfast, stay at home and went online. But the weather's getting warm and I lovvee it. =D Still, showers sometimes on unpredictable times but yea...as long as it's not pouring cats and dogs and I'll be glad.

Anyway, I went to Nationwide trying to open up a new bank account beside HSBC. Then they need a bank statement from HSBC. When to HSBC, it's going to take longer than I expected to complete my application for a new account. Turned out I need to wait for 5-10more days for me to receive my bank statement. *shoot...* I NEED A BLOODY VISA CARD NOW! Then, I asked politely and again curious,to the HSBC worker who's currently entertaining me about when will my Maestro-Visa convertion will be due. I was overly excited he could do it right away and noww, I only have to wait for a few days for my new card to be delivery on my front door.

Shesh.. some people, I have went to HSBC 3x last time asking if I could convert my card, alas this same guy from the counter told me they couldn't do that and I have to wait till I don't know when to get my freakin Visa! And how come I could now? If again my intention to go to HSBC again to ask for my card convertion, he would have pissed off and snapped me back.

This week, I finally attended my lectures early in the morning. So far, I have been busy exploring the back of uni, Ormeau Road, never knew there's a river nearby. =p
Bought a 5pounds phone card for 277mins call to Brunei. Cheapest way I know to call back home, I miss my fam.

I met Kak Tom, Ezzah's friend from Malaysia while buying some stuff in co-op and eventually companied her buying veges. She welcomed me to her home and insisted to stay over for a while. =) Thank you Kak Tom.

Yesterday, I got bored, I made another batch of cupcakes, then when I trying to make the finishing touch, the buttercream, I found out we ran out of sugar icing *aakk!* I had to substitute it with granulated sugar and sadly, it didn't turn out good. =(

But nice to see, right?

Then, Wae&Farkhan came back home, and spontaneously, we started making sushi lastnite.

3hours of sushi-rolling, tired.

Mind you, we're not pro, so it's only amatuer sushi. =p At least there're still good to eat, and in the end, it's what the inside that counts right? *LOL*

Tonite, we went out to VickySq. to watch Friday the 13th. And it was Bloody scary! and sexual. -_- *malu..*

It's been ages we haven't went straight up.

I kinda stayed up late again lasted nite, costed me 2 lecture classes today. DX When I finally have the mood to study.
Anyway, I went straight to the city, passing thru' Sandy Street, where I found a Spice Shop and actually I was searching for Top Mart butcher but eventually I assumed it's a hoax tale of another halal butcher in Belfast. =X
I wanted to change/upgrade my Debit Card to Visa as I'm having difficulties purchasing stuff online, then the helper informed this couple of months, every card will eventually convert from Maestro to Visa. XD *bahagia*
We went home walking thru' Ormeau Road, where we found a ministore selling Fresh Halal Meat, yet beside chicken, others will be freshly arrived every Thursday.

2nd day in Glasglow. Sleeping over at Chewawa's place,lastnite played L4D with all the housemates, like so pacah, I was cursing and screaming like mad. So this is how it feels letting myself go while gaming. XD
Apparently, I know both of his housemates, used to be my UBD colleagues. =)

Today, Alin and I only went to the city for a quick browse around, I didn't go anywhere yesterday cause I've been in a deep sleep the whole afternoon, exhausted. I bought 'I love Superman tshirt'. So sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....! =D Alin picked it for me.

Tried baking oreo cupcakes, but I ran out of cupcake cases that I had to substitute them with muffin cases instead.
I'm not sure what's wrong but the texture of the base was fudge-like, hence FAIL. It might probably be the muffin case, I guess the size of the case counts too?
I had my usually daily routine I do everynight, downloading, browsing the net, watching series, then Habsy shifted her plans baking cupcakes to lastnite which was actually suppose to be today. She needed some stress releaser after her last exam. Along with my other colleagues who had their last exams too.
I accompanied Habsy to Tesco to buy ingredients and borrowed my baking stuff. She baked at Nuz's place while I was in a way guide her. *heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*

Last year, I didn't really miss home much, well, pin it down, never.
But somehow, I'm getting more and more homesick each day. Especially the catastrophic flood occurrences happen in Brunei and my home is one of the worst flooded location stated in the news. I'm worried, haven't text ed or called my family back home as I haven't topped up my credit plus I don't have any cash left until next month.

Still worried.. =( And reading the news there's been 2 deaths due to this, I never felt more troubled.

Major Tesco

I've been searching for curry leaves since I went back here, seems like forever everytime the butcher from Tipaza said,'spices will come nextweek'. Well, you know the drift. The nextweek, it's not there 'yet', and the nextweek to the other. *sheessshh*
I checked tesco online if they've any, luckilly they do but not the tesco store near our home.
Alin and I did a 'little' grocery shopping at Tesco, Connswater. Us, who usually sleep in every morning and having ourselves to get up early today and had a few bus trips to Conns, we were exhausted with our tired eyes.
I promised Alin I wouldn't be spending alot but... *hehehe* eventually I did, and mostly for baking. My bad dear... Love you..

So I was stucked with the decision whether to make oreo or red velvet cupcakes.

I had to go for red velvet as we only have 2 eggs left as oreo cupcakes recipe needed 3.
I was furious to see my mixture wasn't even red tho I added more red colouring than mentioned, I gave up. I think it's because of the cocoa powder which I couldn't make the cupcakes red... Oh well.

I know I'm not the best but as I said this over and over, I will die trying baby. It's cute when you counted, you thought it was the 13th. Then I explained by counting it myself and I understood how you mess up as I messed it up explaining to you too. *haha*

my first cupcakes trials

Again, another boring day, I decided to bake myself some cupcakes and knowing a lot of people has done them nicely, how hard can it be.

Oh my.... Well, it was hard work beating the mixture as I don't own an electric beater. It did mix well eventually.

So in the recipe, it said to fill about 2/3 of the paper cups with the mixture and bake. I did so..
after half the period, I checked my cupcakes in the oven, they were overflowed... (O_O) And because it's hotter behind the oven, I re-adjusted the trays position and I accidently mushed up 2 of the cupcakes!! *ARGGHHH!!!*

First trial for cupcakes:

Taste: pass.

Appearance: fail.

2nd trial, filled 1/2.

Appearance's getting better.

But I kind of mess them up with 'runny' icing, I guess I added 2 spoon much of water to my icings that it doesn't stay in place as it should and some obvious lumps as it was hard to smooth without an electric beater.

3rd trial:

after the previous trial and errors, I eventually made this one the best. =p *hehe*

FINALLY!

I added some food colouring in the icing and some nuts on the top. =D Not only it's good to eat, it's pretty to see.
